    • 1 Arrive Darwin

      This evening, get to know your fellow travellers, Driver-Guide and Tour Director during a welcome dinner at your hotel.

    • 2 Darwin, Litchfield National Park, Adelaide River

      Discover Litchfield National Park and visit both Wangi Falls and Florence Falls, set amongst a monsoon forest. Enjoy a swim after lunch before visiting the poignant and beautifully maintained war cemetery at Adelaide River. Tonight enjoy dinner at your hotel.

    • 3 Mataranka

      Head to the natural Mataranka Thermal Pool where you can take a dip in the warm, crystal-clear waters, which are said to have healing properties for aches and pains. Visit the remote town of Roper Bar and enjoy a cruise along the Roper River. Discover the mystery that surrounds the death of explore Ludwig Leichardt, who disappeared with his exploration party in this area in 1848. Later, arrive at Lorella Springs Wilderness Park.

    • 4 Lorella Springs Wilderness Park

      Today, you have a full day to explore the pristine wilderness. Guides from Lorella Springs will lead you along bush tracks, as well as swim in the waterholes and relax in the thermal springs. Optional walk from Nanney’s retreat to see Aboriginal Paintings and Caves, or an afternoon at leisure.

    • 5 Lorella Springs Wilderness Park, Borroloola, Hell's Gate

      After your morning in Lorella Springs, travel to Borroloola, where you will board your scenic flight to Hells Gate.

    • 6 Hell's Gate, Karumba

      Arrive at Burketown Thermal Springs, hot springs that have been created from a bore drilled into the ground in 1897. Continue on to Camp 119, the monument commemorates Burke and Wills campsite 119 which was their most northerly campsite during their expedition in 1861. Afterwards, you will visit Leichhardt Falls, a plunge waterfall on the Leichardt River. Take in the natural landscape, and you may even spot a saltwater crocodile in the nearby river.

    • 7 Karumba, Normanton

      Journey to Normanton, where you’ll see the famous Purple Pub and Victorian-era railway station. Enjoy a self-guided heritage walk around the station precinct and museum. Built in 1889, the station is a treasure trove of history and architecture. Afterwards, visit the Les Wilson Barramundi Discovery Centre to learn all about this iconic fish. This afternoon you will end your day with a special Signature Experience.

    • 8 Karumba, Croydon

      Journey to the historic goldrush town of Croydon, the heritage capital of the Gulf and visit the True Blue Interactive Information Centre. Take yourself on a self-guided walking tour of the Croydon town. Enjoy dinner at your hotel tonight.

    • 9 Cobbold Gorge

      Discover Cobbold Gorge, hidden away within a spectacularly rugged sandstone formation. This morning, enjoy a boat cruise and tour through these narrow waterways as a guide points out the geological features of this incredible natural wonder. Remember to keep watch for the freshwater crocodiles. Enjoy an afternoon at own leisure, followed by dinner at your hotel.

    • 10 Cobbold Gorge, Undara Lava Tubes

      After breakfast this morning continue to Undara, tour Undara National Park with the two hour Archway Explorer. Discover the site of the 190,000-year-old Undara Lava Tubes, a series of underground tunnels formed during a volcanic eruption in the region. Join a Savannah Guide for an informative tour.

    • 11 Undara, Millstream Falls, Herberton Historic Town, Cairns

      Today, travel from Ravenshoe to Herberton and onwards to Cairns. Enjoy a visit and talk at Woodleigh Station, which is located within the surrounds of the quintessential Australian bush. Journey to the beautiful tiered waterfall, Millstream Falls. Later visit Herberton Historic Village before finishing the day in Cairns with a dinner at your hotel.

      Your adventure draws to a close after breakfast this morning. Be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.

    Climate Winter in the tropical north is the dry season and temperatures will be mild with low humidity. Through the months of September and October, the temperatures become increasingly warmer.

    Fitness to Travel A good level of fitness and health is required to participate on holiday packages. In some destinations there are extensive sightseeing excursions by foot which includes the climbing of stairs and walking on uneven surfaces. Mobility is needed boarding or alighting coaches and trains.

    Single Travellers A limited number of single rooms may be available at the time of booking. Single rooms may be smaller than twin or double bedded rooms and may have a single bed. Single supplements apply

    Children under 12 years are not recommended to participate in a coach tour. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.

    Extras Airfares (unless stated), airport taxes, laundry, food not on the regular table d’hôte menu, drinks may or may not be included as indicated in your itinerary, excess baggage, Wi-Fi (unless stated), fuel surcharges and optional excursions not specified in the itinerary. Extra overnight accommodation is not included at the start or end of the tour if not specified in the itinerary. Airport Transfers Airport transfers are included on the first and last day of the tour as indicated by the itinerary or when booking pre or post-tour accommodation with your tour.

    Luggage Limits Land touring is conducted in 4WD vehicles with limited luggage capacity. Each passenger is requested to limit their luggage to one small/medium soft bag or suitcase weighing no more than 16kg (35 lb approx) and with dimensions of no more than 66cm length x 35cm width x 32cm height. Cameras, make-up bags etc should be carried separately. Should you have excess luggage, it is your responsibility to organise for this to be forwarded to your final destination.

    Clothing and What to Bring Clothing and footwear should be casual, comfortable and suited to tropical conditions.

    • Clothing – shorts, trousers, shirts, swimwear, hat, sunglasses, a jacket and a change of warm clothes in case of inclement weather are advisable.
    • Footwear – some form of fast-drying wet-shoe would prove useful.
    • Personal – sun protection, insect repellant, medications, toiletries, (overseas travelers should bring a suitable adapter). Don’t forget to bring your video or camera along with plenty of film & spare batteries (recharge facilities are available).
    • Money and/or credit card for personal expenses such as drinks, souvenirs and optional extras.

    Smoking Government regulations forbid smoking in tourist coaches, however frequent stops are made for those wishing to smoke. Smoking is not permitted in hotel rooms. Requests for smoking/non-smoking rooms will be passed on to hotels but cannot be guaranteed.
